New Rochelle, NY – This week in Monroe athletics features three teams competing, with the men's soccer team competing in their home opener on Saturday at 7:00 pm against Division III No. 4 Mohawk Valley Community College.
Men's Soccer
After a 4-1 victory over Division II No. 9 CCBC Essex that saw sophomore
Carmelo Bello score twice, the Mustangs will play their first game in New Rochelle on the evening of September 13 against Mohawk Valley. Monroe defeated the Hawks, 14-0, in 2024 and will be searching for another dominant win to kick off its home schedule.

Women's Volleyball
For the Mustangs, Delaware Technical Community College awaits on Wednesday before a doubleheader versus PSU Lehigh Valley and Raritan Valley Community College takes place over the weekend. Sophomore
Emma Dedushaj shined this past week in Florida, continuing to build off her stellar defense this season with 80 total digs across the three contests.

Women's Soccer
Wiktoria Mikrut shined for Monroe in its home opener win over Miami Dade College last week, scoring two goals to propel the team to victory. This week, a weekend doubleheader is on tap for the Mustangs as they take on Montgomery College on Saturday and the Division II No. 17 College of Southern Maryland on Sunday.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
