Lubbock, TX - Sophomore Attoya Harvey of the women's indoor track and field team earned a podium finish during day two of the 2025 NJCAA National Championships on Saturday, capping off a successful trip to Lubbock for the Mustangs.
Harvey placed eighth overall in the 600m final with a time of 1:36.19. Her performance gained her USTFCCCA All-American honors in the process.
Freshman Joy Fridah Jepleting too had a busy, yet successful outing at the Sports Performance Center. She placed tenth overall in the mile with a time of 5:13.73.
The Mustangs wrapped up their weekend in the 4x400m relay. The team of freshman Kaliyah Jones, sophomore Kettia Ambrose, Harvey and Jepleting combined to run a 3:50.76 in the event, which is a season-best for the quartet.
With the indoor season now completed, the Mustangs will take a few weeks off before kicking of the 2025 outdoor season with high expectations.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
