Staten Island, NY – The Monroe University women's indoor track and field team wrapped up its regular season slate with two more national qualifications for freshman Joy Fridah Jepleting at the Fastrack Last Chance Meet on Friday.

Jepleting, who already qualified for the 3000m at nationals during the John Thomas Terrier Clasic, earned qualification in the 800m and 1000m at Ocean Breeze for the final meet on the schedule.

The freshman was the lone Mustang to compete. She ran a time of 2:16.74 in the 800m to qualify for nationals before running the 1000m with limited rest and clocking in at the 3:06.79. She was the overall winner in the event in her first time running the 1000m, locking in a spot in Lubbock, TX, in the process.

Jepleting and 13 of her teammates will take the trip to Texas next week as they compete at NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Nationals.
