New Rochelle, NY – This week in Monroe athletics features all seven teams competing, with the women's and men's soccer teams hosting their annual sophomore day festivities on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
Women's Soccer
Another win this past week put the Mustangs at 6-0-1 on the season. Freshman
Julia Migacz scored and later assisted on a goal, highlighting a solid all-around day for the team in a 4-0 victory over Harcum College. This week, the Mustangs will host Harford Community College as a part of their sophomore day festivities.

Men's Soccer
Following a difficult loss at No. 1 Iowa Western Community College, Monroe responded in a big way with a 4-1 statement victory at No. 11 Harcum on Friday. Four different players scored for the Mustangs, including freshman
Peterson Aquino and sophomore
Carmelo Bello, who are tied atop the team leaderboard with four goals apiece. The team will play twice this week, capping off the week with its sophomore day festivities on Sunday

Women's Volleyball
The Mustangs continue to thrive as they are currently on a 14-game win streak and have lost only once since August 24. Freshman
Alisha Pereira Rodriguez-Wells is on a tear of late as she is now tied atop the team leaderboard in kills this season. Monroe is set for five matches this week, including four at the Walters State Invitational in Tennessee this weekend.

Football
Coming off a narrow defeat by the hands of Lackawanna College, the Mustangs will shift gears for a neutral site showdown versus Division III No. 4 Louisburg College. Against the Falcons, redshirt sophomore
Jashaun Amin eclipsed 122 receiving yards, which slots him into third all-time on the receiving yards leaderboard for Monroe.

Cross Country
Monroe's second meet of the season comes this Saturday in Newark, NJ, at the METS Championships. Both teams had a roaring start to the season as sophomore
Nkanyezi Ziqubu took home first at the Queensborough Invite last Sunday, while freshman
Sarah-Lea Cohen placed in second for the women's side.

JV Men's Soccer
The Mustangs haven't played since September 25 due to cancelations, but they will be back and ready to compete when they travel to Felician University for the penultimate game of the season on Thursday.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
