BOSTON, Mass., September 21, 2024 – A pair of personal-record performances highlighted the day for the Monroe University Mustangs women's cross country team at the 2024 Codfish Bowl Classic at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass., on Saturday.
Stephanie Delouis and
Julihanna Johnson each shaved off more than five minutes from their times a week ago to set new personal bests for themselves on Saturday. Delouis clocked in at 26:52.4 on Saturday, an improvement of 5:04.9 from last week's time at Delaware State. Johnson ran a time of 32:05.2, which is 6:18.5 faster than last week's 5K time of 38:23.7.
Attoya Harvey led the way for the Mustangs on Saturday, taking 13th-place out of 188 runners with a season-best time of 19:29.5. Tanesia Gardner was Monroe's second finisher on the day with a time of 23:51.9.
The Mustangs compete for the third time this season this coming Saturday, Sept. 28, when they run in the Caldwell University Cougar Chase Invite in Sayreville, N.J. Saturday's meet is set to begin at 9:30 a.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 28 teams competing across nine sports. There are 20 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
