RALEIGH, N.C., March 25, 2022 –
Edward Williams Jr. provided the highlight of the day for the Monroe College Mustangs men's track and field team on Day 2 of the Raleigh Relays, hosted by North Carolina State University on Friday.
Williams was one of four Mustangs to compete on Friday. He ran in the 110-meter hurdles event, clocking in at 14.18 seconds, placing 11th out of 41 participants in the event. His time surpassed the qualifying standard for the 2022 NJCAA Div. I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, earning him a spot at the national meet in the 110mH.

Tendai Nyoni all ran in the 400-meter dash for the Mustangs on Friday. Best was the fastest to cross the line with a time of 49.74 seconds. Paul was next at 50.58 seconds. Nyoni then ran a time of 52.59 seconds.
The third and final day of the Raleigh Relays will take place on Saturday, March 26, at NC State. The action is set to begin at 10 a.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 35 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 14 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
