Jalen Brown had an electric start to the 2018 season, leading the Mustangs to a 24-8 victory at home against the New Jersey Warriors. He completed six passes for 44 yards, but he did most of his damage with his legs. Brown rushed for 153 yards on 11 carries, scoring two long touchdowns in the win. He broke away for a 55-yard score near the end of the first half, pushing the Mustangs into the lead. Brown then had an even more impressive 78-yard scamper to the end zone late in the third quarter to make it a 17-8 game.
