NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The Monroe University men's basketball team (27-4 overall) was named the No. 13 seed in the 2026 NJCAA Division I National Championship tournament on Monday night.

The Mustangs will face No. 20 Mineral Area College (21-11 overall) in Hutchinson, Kansas, on Saturday, March 21, at 5:30 p.m. CT. This will be the Mustangs' first time facing them in program history.

Monroe captured their 10th NJCAA District title on March 8 after they defeated No. 3 seeded Harcum 97-52. The Mustangs will enter the NJCAA D1 tournament for the 12th time in program history.

In the NJCAA tournament, the Mustangs have reached one Final Four and are 4-5 all-time in the tournament. Their best finish came in 2011, when they finished third.

All the tournament games will be streamed on ESPN+ and the championship game will be streamed on ESPNU.
