New York, NY – The Monroe University women's indoor track and field team competed at the Millrose Games on Saturday, with the 4x400m relay team placing third overall and qualifying for NJCAA nationals.
Held at the Nike Track and Field Center at Manhattan's Armory, the Millrose Games is in its 117th year and is often heralded as the world's longest running and most prestigious indoor track and field event.

Kettia Ambrose and
Attoya Harvey, and freshmen
Kaliyah Jones and
Joy Fridah Jepleting clocked in at 3:52.46 for the 4x400m event. Amrbose kicked off the relay with a time of 57.11 in the first leg. The second leg, run by Jones, was completed in 57.99 seconds. Jepleting, a 3k specialist, ran the third leg with a time of 1:00.20. The anchor, Harvey, ran a time of 57.17.
The Mustangs will next take part in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 28 teams competing across nine sports. There are 20 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
