SELDEN, N.Y., March 27, 2024 – The Monroe College Mustangs JV baseball team dropped a road matchup at NJCAA Div. III Suffolk County Community College on Wednesday by a score of 14-1.

The Mustangs got their lone run in the top of the fifth inning.
Omar Taveras led off the inning with a single. A passed ball later moved him to second. He then stole third, and an errant throw allowed him to come home on the play.

The Mustangs head right back out to Selden, N.Y., again on Friday, March 29, for a rematch with the Sharks. Friday's game is set for an 11 a.m. first pitch.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 28 teams competing across nine sports. There are 20 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well the Monroe College marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
