Tameko Poitier

Tameko Poitier enters his first year as an Events and Facilities Graduate Assistant in 2025. He recently graduated from Monroe University with a bachelor’s degree in business management and a minor in finance. Currently, he is pursuing his master’s in business management, analytics and information technology.

Tameko previously served as an intern with the athletic department at Monroe, assisting with a multitude of responsibilities — including managing the equipment for certain teams, maintaining statistics and handling live stream operations on gamedays.

During that period, Tameko also served as an intern with New Flex Youth based in Mount Vernon, assisting with financial processes and maintaining records with QuickBooks software. He also supported the planning and coordination of fundraising events and managed key financial aspects of the annual Winter Ball event.

Tameko is very involved in leadership activities as he currently holds positions with the Student Activities Club at Monroe while also acting as a member of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA).

He’s volunteered at several organizations and works extremely well in a team environment, making him as stellar asset for the Monroe athletic department.
