Joe Lotano joins Monroe University in the Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Communications role after spending nearly two years at NCAA Division I member Wagner College in Staten Island, NY.
At Wagner, Lotano served as a media relations assistant and head sports information director for baseball, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming & diving, men’s and women’s fencing, and men’s and women’s golf.
Lotano has a passion for sports and values the connections he builds with both the athletes and coaches in his role as a sports media liaison.
A graduate of the University of Maryland, Lotano spent three years as a beat reporter with Testudo Times and The Diamondback, two highly accredited publications at the College Park campus.
With Testudo Times, he covered women’s lacrosse for all three seasons on staff, as well as women’s volleyball and men’s soccer. As a staff writer for The Diamondback, the Westfield, NJ, native covered the women’s basketball team during the 2021-22 season.
In addition to his professional experience within the world of sports, Lotano loves watching sports in his spare time, specifically college basketball, baseball and football. Aside from the Terrapins, Lotano’s rooting interest lies with the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Ravens.
