2022 All-American Felipe Jaime Arruda got his season off to a great start with six points on opening weekend. Arruda did not tally a point in Monroe's season-opening 5-0 victory over USC Sumter, using his talents to help out elsewhere and keep the Fire Ants off the board. He then took his turn on offense in Sunday's 8-0 win at USC Lancaster, registering all six of his points in the win after scoring twice and providing the assist on two more scores. Arruda helped lead the defending NJCAA Champions to a perfect 2-0 start to the 2023 season.
