Karim Belmahdi opened the 2023 outdoor season with a bang on Day 2 of Weems Baskin on Saturday at the University of South Carolina. Competing for the first time outdoors this season, Belmahdi won the 1,500-meter run on Saturday against numerous NCAA Division I runners. He clocked in with a time of 3:52.46, which easily surpasses the NJCAA qualifying standard for the event this season, earning him a spot in the race in the 2023 NJCAA Div. I Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
