Je-andrick Lourens turned in a strong start in Monroe's 7-3 victory at No. 18 Florence-Darlington Technical College on Saturday. In a scheduled seven-inning contest, Lourens went seven innings, and started the eighth frame after the game needed extra innings to decide a winner. Though he did not factor into the decision, Lourens allowed just three runs while striking out 11 batters in the eventual win. Lourens has pitched well in each of Monroe's victories so far this season.
