Leivin Rodriguez got his first season with Monroe off to a hot start this past week. The freshman infielder batted .529 across five starts with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored. He also came on to close the Mustangs' victory over Alvin Community College, striking out two batters without allowing a run to pick up the save.
