Entering her 3rd year as Monroe’s jumps and hurdles specialists, Coach Cassatta looks to continue guiding nationally competitive athletes to the top of the NJCAA.
As multi-event athlete at Somers High School, she set both Section 1 and Westchester County records in the pole vault. She also earned All-American status in the shuttle hurdles and the sprint-medley relays. Coach Cassatta later jumped for Monmouth University where she attained the freshman pole vault record and then qualifying to compete for the Empire State Games in the heptathlon. She went on to compete for Northeastern University in the pole vault, hurdles, and long jump.
Coach Cassatta has guided some of Monroe’s all-time greatest athletes; her Sengalese charge Mamadou Gueye set school records in both horizontal jumps, finishing runner-up in both the Indoor and Outdoor NJCAA Track and Field Championship long jump and winning the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship triple jump. Gueye went on to compete at the 2013 World University Games, representing both his home of Senegal and his second home of Monroe! Cassatta also guided Francisco Escobar to three All-American selections as Escobar finished 6th at back to back NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship pole vault competitions and finished his Mustang tenure with a 4th place finish at the NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship in the event.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a concentration in Media and a Music Industry Minor from Northeastern University. She is currently working toward her MBA in International Business.
